Wedding Season Begains

This past Saturday, a friend got married. Georgina and Dana were colleges at the title company. Just as Dana came on board Georgina decided she wanted a change. For the few months that they worked together they had a lot in common and became good friends. Even when Georgia didn't work with Dana they still stayed in touch via email and cell phone. So, Georgina was very excited for Dana when she advised that she was engaged and would be marry next summer. At the same time Georgina told Dana that she had a very special man in her life as well. And, what do you know a few months later Georgina was engaged and would be married in March 2009. Dana had to attend! With Dana's part-time job she couldn't take two Saturday's off so she decided they couldn't attend her great aunt's birthday, which was the Saturday before the wedding. So, she and Anthony would attend the wedding the following weekend and visit with her aunt as the wedding was held in Houston. The Friday before, we drove to Houston and spent the night with Dana's parents the next morning we got up and got ready for the wedding. Unfortunately, we got lost...yes we had a GPS but it couldn't locate the church. We arrived right as they let the guest out and they started to take pictures. She looked so happy and he looked so much in love. I couldn't believe she and I are getting married this year! After the pictures they walked into the banquet hall and greeted guest. We stood in line for our turn to congratulate the couple and Georgina screamed when she saw Dana and Dana started to get emotional. It had been about 3 years since they last saw each other but it was just like old times. We were introduced to Larry and he seemed like a very, very nice man. After the wedding we called my great aunt and stopped by her home to visit, talk about her huge birthday and all the fun we missed and I told her about all the weddings this year. First our friends, Tameka and Milton, then Georgina and Larry, next Keith and Crystal, then Carmen and Joseph, then our turn and after Amanda and Joey. It so exciting! I can't believe that some people think that our economic would stop love. That just goes to show you love never fails and it will prevail. And, there will be many more weddings....love is in the air and we're breathing it in!

Site Up and Running

Now that we know what's going on with Duncan we can try to take our minds off his health issue and back on something and fun.  One of Anthony first honey-do-list items for the wedding was to create our wedding website.  We need this before we send off our Save the Dates as it provides information the venue, gift registry and accommodations, etc. After all the stress Anthony finished! And, it more wonderful than I could have imaged, it's everything I wanted and more.  He was even excited about the results and truly believe it will be a get place to learn about us, our city and this blog.  This month we can check off three things, website created, engagement pics taken and save the dates sent out!  We are on a roll!  We have 5 months till we wed and we have a lot more to check off our list.  But we'll make it happen, we're a great team!   

March Madness

Anthony was so excited that's it finally March and we can watch basketball 24/7 however Duncan Punkin started the madness.  I noticed that he wasn't feeling well and Anthony had noted it several weeks before and didn't want to tell me because I would be scared and possibly over react.  Trust me we had a really serious conversation about what we discuss and how we react to that knowledge.  So, that's clear now we focused back on Duncan.  The next morning I took him to the doctor and she advised that he had stones and they needed to be removed with surgery.  Of course I lost it started to cry, pray, cry and called my mom.  When we got back home I informed Anthony and took care of making the arrangements and preparation for surgery.  The next day we took dropped him off at he doctors at 8am and they told me they would start surgery at noon.  We ended up getting breakfast and coming back home when the doctor called at 12:15.  My heart stopped the doctor called to advise us that Duncan needed to be taken to the emergency medical surgeon as one of the stones wouldn't allow a catheter.  I broke down!  But Anthony was my rock and took care of everything.  We called the surgeon to get his next appointment and made arrangements to met him.  I was so nervous about what he was going to say but the news was good and he made us feel very comfortable.  So we had to leave my baby.  I ended up returning to work but Anthony called me to tell me he doctors said it went well and that they needed to watch him overnight.  The next day I was too thrilled to see him.  Believe me or not but Anthony shredded a few tears as well.  I think we were both happy it was over and the healing was able to begin.  In three weeks he will get his stitches removed and all will be well.  Thank you to all our family, friends, colleagues, Vets, and staff that helps us through this.  But to the one and only God that keep me as faithful and Anthony strong we are here because of your love for us and we thank you.
