Christmas 2009

I woke up to my sister letting the dogs out of her utilities room and telling them to go potty. But of course our Duncan Punkin sniffed us out and started to sniff under the door. Anthony was still asleep so I knew I was the one that would have to get up let him in to see what's going on and then he would go potty. After getting up and saying good morning to my sister I went back to my room to brush my hair, wash my face and brush my teeth. Leaving the bathroom my Mom was up so she got ready and we started to make breakfast and finish the Christmas diner my sister had planned. The menu was fabulous! Little did I know my dad de-veined the shrimp for me (thank you so much daddy)! However, my sister game me a new chore...pealing and chopping garlic. This was horrible I disliked it a lot. Not sure which I hate the most but I'm hoping next year someone else will do those. I worked on that garlic for at least 2 hours. During the time we prepared breakfast...ate as we cooked the dinner. Right after breakfast my brother in laws family came over to visit and greet us with holiday wishes. It was great seeing and hear his dad and mine talk about old days and how things have changed. Guess, my nephew heard both his grandfather talking so he woke up and hung out with us. Unfortunately Anthony was still as sleep. After they left we all took turns getting ready for the dinner guest to arrive...at no set time. So, I finally got Anthony up and we were all up and ready. Presents Time: We had so much fun opening gifts. My parents got a restaurant gift card, a laptop and a picture of our wedding. My nephew got a plasma tv, gift card, appliances for his apartment, toilet paper, clothes and a picture of our wedding. My sister and husband received there house, gift cards, and a picture of our wedding. We also, got a picture of the wedding as a gift for my MaDear. We got cordless telephones, gift card, new cell phone, towels, video/camera, and speaker phone for the card. Don't know how but Anthony got two Polo shirts (a personal gift) hmmm. First to arrive was my cousin Robert, my dad's brother, Uncle Ike and brother in law Torrie and my twice Terrell. Then my cousin Myrtle and her husband. They just got married the first weekend in December and she gave us the greatest gift to announce they're pregnant. How exciting! Several other family members and friends of the family came by. Toward the end of the day my parents left with my nephew to see his apartment but I didn't go. Antoine knows why! And by the end of the day people we full off good food, drinking, watching the game, playing cards, kids playing and having fun, some where watching movies. It was a full house full of people and fun! So we cleaned up and went to bed. The next day we had to get up, eat breakfast, pack, review the laptop with my parents....web cam it too cool! It's Saturday and Anthony had to be at work at 6pm. So he drove to Texas and I drove to Austin. It was such a great trip and we love being with family and friends. Hope everyone was as blessed as we were and were able to enjoy Christmas with the one(s) you love.

Christmas Eve 2009

This would be our first year driving to Louisiana alone. My parents drove up a few days earlier, to see my sister's new house and to help her prepare for the fest we have every year. My sister is an amazing cook...and likes to cook. A trait I didn't get! I'm more like my mom and feel like cooking is a chore. Maybe I'll like it more, as Anthony makes it easy. He'll eat anything I cook and is very appreciative. But for now I'll keep my magnet up on our frig that states, "I only have a kitchen because it came with the house". So, we wake up Christmas Eve got all the bags packed, gifts packed and in the car. Got the dogs feed and in the car and we started our eight hour road trip. Despite the rainy weather, we didn't get lost, and made it in good time. Our Tom Tom GPS that Anthony got me last year has really been helpful. If you directionally challenged like me...it a great investment. So, once we got close I called my sister and verified we were in the right area. My sister now lives in a beautiful gated community and her house is lovely. We didn't unpack our bags right away because it was still raining but it was great being out of the car. Once we arrived my sister and Anthony went to the store to drinks and movies. While I relaxed with my parents and the dogs. Once they return the fun began...we ate and my sister, Mom and I played on the Wii and Wii Fit. I was a sight to see let me tell ya. My nephew and cousin Big Rob came over and hung out a bit and then it was time to sleep so we could wake up and get breakfast and dinner ready for tomorrow.

So, I stayed in Houston to assist him is mailing, stuffing, sealing, stamping, verifying address and etc to send out holiday cards. It took us about five hours over two days but we got it done. Plus we used our 5 years of service stamps and created and put coupons in for potential customers to have a free post. For 5 years I've been the CFO of MassMediaJobs.com now I'm taking on a new role, interest and investment of the new company Gypsy Media Group. I'm really excited about what this new decade has to offer. This will be a new year for me especially. I'm a wife, a President of a company and working on my own venture too. It's a pretty cool feel to feel this comfortable about life. I'm so happy!

Pics, Dinner and a Movie

How fun yesterday at 7pm we went to our photographers studio/home to pick up our pictures, canvas, dvd and finalize our absolutely beautiful wedding book. I'm so in love with this book....it total tells the story of our wedding day. Which we are both excited about as we didn't opt to get a videographer. With this book and our wedding dvd...we're not missing out. After the visit we headed to eat a SaltGrass (Anthony's first time and he loved it) and sat at a cosy table be the firm order drinks and food, then sat and talked. We were wasting a bit of time because we planned on see the movie Avatar at the 11:50pm showing. After we headed home and stopped by the 24 hour store and picked up a few things. It was cold and we were tired but it was a fun night.

Cards - Greetings and Thanks

This past week Anthony and I received our Christmas cards we ordered online and started addressing the envelopes and verifying addresses. I asked Anthony to stamp the envelopes with our return address and place a stamp on the to mail. All he heard was place and stamp and mail. So, we hope everyone received our cards. If you didn't...it's Anthony's fault. We also, had a few more thank you card for our gifts that I procrastinated on sending out...bad bride! But, I got them out before the end of the year and before Christmas so I think that's pretty good. Once again, thanks to everyone that attended our beautiful wedding, sent or brought gifts and wished us all the blessing God can bestow.
